Never Question

How do I write this?

It is for the simple,
Yet overwhelming fact,
That it is not
Present in words,
That it is above everything.

How can I describe knowing?

Raw and aching?
Severed and reaching?
Longing and hope?

I will always be here,
When you reach for me.

No matter how long,
No matter how raw the ache,
Nothing can sever this hope.

Your smile does the whole world justice.

The piece of my heart that does not sleep,
But dreams of constant wonder,
Of ever-present closeness,
That piece of my heart is the piece
You gave to me.

I keep it,
I hold it,
I cry for the rest of it,
Because it sometimes shudders,
And feels so broken,
So lied to,
It feels so damaged,

Yet,
I cradle it,
Care for it,
Hold on to it,
Because it is you.

I would help you if I could,
Stitch your soul,
Make you whole.

Ignorance with false bliss...
                          ...can you not admit that it is false?
                          ...it would be okay...
                          ...if you did.

Never bow to those who would judge
You for being who you know you should be.

Never before you had I known
What could ever be invincible.

And I found the one thing that
Could be so,
Was what we share.

After that,
My life,
My entirety,
Became something else.

I remembered how to care.

I remembered that things exist
Outside of words.

Outside of words,
Inside of us,
There is as close to
Perfection as can
Ever be.

Devoid of time,
With no space for
Anything but us,
Over the horizon of
What we call forever,
Is how long I will be yours.

That is the nature of
What anyone can know to be
"Love."

If I could write a thousand words
Of what I feel,
And from those words,
Paint a hundred pictures,
And from those,
Derive a single essence,
It would be my gift to you,
Something that you would never
Have to question.

But you already have it.

It was never a question
To begin with.
